The little green yard

I’ve known it forever

I’ve played in it as a child

I’ve made memories with friends on the block

I enjoyed the little green yard

But then I grew up

I found no use in the yard

I never stepped foot

To me it was just grass

But today I look

And through all the green,

Through all the plain grass,

A burst of yellow

The Yellow Woodsorrel

I haven’t paid attention

To me it was all green

Memories came flooding

Of what used to be

My little green yard

-Hugo Rendon

I stepped foot in my yard today and found these flowers on the edge. Usually I look at my yard and everything is just grass to me, but today I actually paid attention to detail. These flowers are called Yellow Woodsorrels.
