Pop Pop Pop. All night
Crack Crack Crack. There’s light
As the noise dies a new sound appears
The woes of some fall on deaf ears
Others thrive from the fear
Shelves empty
But Wait
It’s the little things
Pop Pop Pop goes the kernels
A full bowl still rings
Wind still float on a birds wings
In the distance, the forest still sings
It’s the little things
Twigs still crack
Animals hope for a snack
Night and day go back to back
Fowl still quack
It’s the little things
I like how your poem is saying that the world still goes on. A positive message to appreciate that the world did not end because of the virus. The use of metaphors is great like “the forest still sings.” It makes you poem even more interesting, and fits in flawlessly. Thanks for a positive message in such hard times.

I really like this poem. I feel like the tone and short length of most lines really pairs well with the feeling of the world still spinning. I also really like how you describe both things that happen in nature and things caused by people. This is a really cohesive piece that really fits together in a satisfying way!

“ Night and day go back to back / Fowl still quack /It’s the little things” I loved this! I really relate to this right now. A lot of people are freaking out and focusing on fear and apocalyptic thinking but the reality is that the world is still going, there’s just a virus, and it’ll end. If you’re lucky enough to be safe at home you can take a step back and notice these little things you described in your poem ❤
