~
It sneaks over you slowly
Coating you in chainmail
Suffocating you
Until you can’t inhale.
~
It’s Heavy. So Heavy.
~
You weren’t ready
For life in a ghost town
For the weight of the oceans
Keeping you down.
~
It’s Painful. So Painful.
~
Everything is so empty
You’re stuck in the unknown
There is no help
No one hears you moan.
~
It’s Lonely. So Lonely.
~
On this infinite trek
Every single stride
Takes all your strength
You’re hollow inside.
~
It’s Exhausting. So Exhausting.
~
The water drowns you
You stop your gasping
The relief is immediate
It’s also everlasting.
~
You’re Finished. So Finished.
~

This poem is very unique and detailed. I love how you used a lot of descriptive adjectives to make me visualize what you are writing and almost make me feel the pressure and weight of what is happening. The line “coating you in chain mail … suffocating you until you can’t inhale” was one of those lines that really had an impact on me when I was reading this.

This was such a strong poem. Your descriptive imagery made me really feel what you were saying. I seems like you really wrote from your heart and it was really powerful. Thank you for this!
