Like a broken record,
the same lines keep repeating over and over again,
progressively causing more aggravation
as each lyric passes on.
You always told me how I was the one who needed fixing,
but you were the record that kept skipping.
I knew how to carry on,
while you were always stuck on verse two.

It’s a neat poem and cool idea. I have a record player too (don’t know why). I assume the poem is talking about someone else who believes the writer (maybe you), are wrong, but it is instead them who’s causing the problems. It’s cool how you related this to a broken record.

I think that my favorite part about this poem is how it ends in the last two lines. Since you are essentially saying “you were wrong, I’m right” I think the shortness adds some punch to the piece and a sense of assuredness almost like “I don’t even need to go into detail I know so well.” which is cool to see in my opinion!

It was a really short and simple poem that was still able to portray a lot of meaning within the eight lines. Since the poem was shorter i think it made the last four lines in the poem stick with me even more, and really gave me some insight into what you were going through and the frustration of not being able to express these feeling to the person who needs to hear it.
