Dear Mr. Pimentel,
Your class was the only memorable one in high school where it was made memorable by the fact that I liked the teaching style. From what recall, your presentations were always interesting, you added your own personality and knowledge into it and made it something more than just history. You always gave us partially completed outlines to follow along which I appreciated. As for homework I remember only getting assigned vocab definitions before tests and group project presentations. Rather than busy work, your homework either got students engaged with one another or adequately prepared them for the test. I also remember you playing “Ignition” by R-Kelly at the end of every Friday, and our weekly mindfulness sessions. All of these elements made you stand apart from the typical teacher that reads or presents dryly out of a textbook. I also remember having insightful conversations with you about news, comedians, Kanye West’s best albums, and other random stuff. You felt like a friend more than a teacher to me, but you got me engaged in the coursework, which not many other teachers can say. Furthermore I remember when the administration falsely accused me of some stuff and you stuck up for me, which I appreciate. I hope you still run your class the same way, you got something special there.
Regards,
Griff King
