Ever since I was young, I have always wanted to become an Obstetrician. I have a big family with many cousins who have always surrounded me. My love for children began when I was a child myself. The idea of something so small and innocent eventually becoming someone who will make a difference in the world is what caught my attention so early.

I am currently a freshman enrolled in the Health Professions Program in hopes of pursuing my goal. I hope to open up my own practice once I graduate and be a successful doctor that benefits the world. A lot of people question why I would ever want to spend 12 years in school to “just become a doctor”. I have met many people who are in a career that they are financially comfortable in but do not enjoy it, which in my eyes is doing it wrong. Although I will spend the next 12 years in school, it will be time well spent once I accomplish my goal. I feel that especially because of how long it is going to take me to get where I want to be, graduation day is going to be that much more special for me knowing what I went through to go there. My family has always pushed me to succeed and follow my goals so I will be accomplishing much more than just graduation. Not only will I have a career that I enjoy but I will also be able to travel and take care of the family I create along the way.

I want a big family like the one I had growing up. I want to be married and build an open and comfortable environment with my husband for my children like my parents did for me. I want to be able to provide for them and help them accomplish goals that they make for themselves.
