My third phone alarm is going off. I am not sure if I should get out of bed now, or wait for the next alarm to go off 15 minutes later. By the time I force myself out of bed, get a quick shower and make myself tea, it is 7:30. I lumber into my off grey used 2019 Buick Lacrosse. The sunrise this morning is pretty nice. I can see the orange poking out from behind the bland facade of the hotel I just left.

Today is going to be a busy day. The company I work for is about to open up a new asphalt plant. It is their third new plant in the last five years. It was my job to setup the network infrastructure at the plant. I need to finish up by lunch so that I have time to troubleshoot some mobile device related connection issues. The drive back from Virginia is four hours. I would like to make it home early so that I have time to freshen up before my buddies come over for drinks and dinner.

There is traffic on 95 so I am running late. I stop at Total Wine on the Delaware PA border for cheap booze. It will be needed for the get together tonight. Eventually I pull into my driveway. The house is small but it is mine. Limerick PA is a small and cheap town, but I still rent a spare room to a friend. It helps with the mortgage.

Luckily my housemate has already began cooking dinner. I crack a bottle early and wait for my buddies to arrive.

The date is 2/7/2025. I hope this is an accurate depiction of the future.
