I can imagine myself waking up late on a bright sunny morning. I would wake up late because of what had occured last night. I would spend the start of my weekends by inviting a few of my best friends over for dinner where we talked and caught up with everything going on in our lives. I would make a big meal for everyone to enjoy, which would be because of my improved cooking skills from college. If I learned anything in college, it was how to plan and prepare meals which in my opinion is one of the most important life skills. My friends and I would spend the rest of the night watching movies and playing board games. This is my ideal night, just like how we used to hang out in highschool where we would spend all day playing sports, exploring nature, or do other activities, and at night we would chill and hang out.
Some people might question why I wouldn’t want to go out to head to a bar or go to a restaurant, the truth is I much rather hang out with a small group of close people then go to a random place and interact with strangers.I’ve learned this about myself while being in college with many other personal life lessons. One of the skills I’m currently still learning and improving on as I write this, is improving my work ethic where instead of pushing assignments back to a few days before they are due, I should instead start them right as I get them to become better prepared. My current roommate and highschool friend has this work ethic and I honestly envy this mindset because it’s more efficient and less stressful. Once I improve on this skill I feel like I can make my dreams and goals easier to reach.
My dream for my future self is to become more independent and have enough free time to learn new things, and explore my passions. This includes learning to play the piano, reading more books that interest me, getting to explore nature, being able to cook any meal that I want, and exercising more to create a healthy lifestyle. Along with some of my passions, I want to still spend time with friends and family by having them over at my house and visiting them often. This is how I imagine myself in the future living a peaceful and comfortable life filled with friends and family. Although this future may seem far away, time does fly by really quickly and I intend to work hard and to learn as much as possible to achieve my future goals.
