Upon meeting Marlon I got the sense that he is an incredibly chill person, and I was correct. Marlon is undecided on his major but is looking into business and finance due to the broad range of careers available. He commutes to college and has lived in Philly for most of his life. Before living here, however, he has lived in Florida and New York, but only for a brief amount of time. He also has family in Haiti.
On Thursday, my group decided to got eat at the Student Center. When we sat down, Marlon spilled his drink, but he dealt with it so calmly it was impressive to me, who was incredibly nervous to talk to two new people. We continued to talk, and I learned that he has a younger sibling on his father’s side and enjoys sports of all sorts.
When we were all talking I could see that Marlon is an attentive and curious listener, as Nelson and I started to talk about our common interests in certain shows and movies that Marlon wasn’t familiar with. While we talked, he still paid attention and even stated that he may look into some of them, as they seemed interesting to him, asking questions about the plot and whatnot.
I must admit that when I’m nervous I ramble and definitely did so when we went to eat, and I feel guilty because I probably didn’t let the others talk as much, but no matter what Marlon said it was always spoken with precision and thought, which contrasted my ramblings, and a trait I admire in people. All in all, Marlon is a pretty chill dude I’m happy I got to meet!
